News May 2000: These were the news concerning Madrugada and this page in May 2000. To see recent news, please click go to the Madrugada / Page News section.
May 31st 2000 - In May 1999 the Norwegian band Cinnamoon spent four days in the studio of Kåre And The Cavemen in the Grønland region of Oslo recording an album. Cinnamoon has opened shows for Madrugada on their Norwegian tours, and Frode Jacobsen, bass player in Madrugada, was hired as producer while Anders Møller, percussionist in Kåre And The Cavemen, was hired as technician. Both Frode and Anders, plus fellow Madrugada-members Sivert Høyem and Robert S. Burås joined the band in studio. Cinnamoon recorded ten songs, and members of Madrugada wound up playing on six of them. Frode played some guitar on "Dust," percussion on "Distant Thunder Rolling" and the organ on "Kika." On "Calexico," Robert added some mean Cramps-inspired guitar parts, and he also played guitar on "3AM Letter." Sivert sang backup-vocals during the chorus on "Little Devil" and sang a duet with Cinnamoon-singer Joachim during parts of the already mentioned "3AM Letter." Apparently, Frode did a great job as a producer, but those who own the "Electric" single should already know that from "I'm Life's Wonderful Way Of Letting You Down." Due to some technical difficulties, the album has not yet been released, apart from some promos. Hopefully the album will be out this Autumn. Thanks a lot to Tom Amund Hoff, Cinnamoon drummer, for the information. This information available in the Rare Songs FAQ. May 28th 2000 - The Story Of Madrugada page is finally finished. The page will probably be slightly re-written in the near future, more information and a lot more images will be added. The index logo on all the pages was slightly changed, the original version of the image replaced the blurred version that was previously used. Another service was added to the Internet Resources page. The Madrugada Webring is the first and so far only Madrugada Webring on the Internet. If you are the webmaster of a Madrugada page in English, feel free to join the free service. All you have to do is add a short HTML code to your own page. May 26th 2000 - The Pink Pop Festival is being held at Landgraaf in the Netherlands. This information was added to the European Release / Concerts page. The Madrugada In NME page was renamed Madrugada In Great Britain, and Melody Maker's recent review of "Industrial Silence," where the album got four out of five stars, was added. The Live Bootleg Recordings page is finally finished. If you would like to do a bootleg trade for Madrugada recordings with me, please e-mail me at webmaster@madrugada.de May 22nd 2000 - The European Release / Concerts page was updated. A couple of new concert dates were added for the British release of "Industrial Silence" and for the summer festival tour, some information was updated, and I added the setlist for the Black Sessions radio performance in Paris, France on March 3rd 2000. May 21st 2000 - Updated Internet Resources page with information about linking to this page using the banner. Fixed missing NME advertisement image on Madrugada In NME page. May 19th 2000 - The Internet Resources page is finally up. It includes information on how to join the Madrugada Mailing List, and it also has a couple of links to Madrugada webpages. More links will probably be added soon. Information on joining a Madrugada Webring will be available on the page very soon. A lot of 'behind the scene'-stuff was done today, mostly improving the HTML. The page should look pretty good, but if you find any errors I might have missed, please be sure to let me know about it by sending me an e-mail at webmaster@madrugada.de. I also did some small updates; Information About New Album was completely re-written, European Release / Concerts was slightly updated and the References page and the main page were slightly changed. May 18th 2000 - Added a new page, Madrugada in NME. On April 22nd there was an advertisement for "Industrial Silence" in the weekly English music paper NME, as the album had just been released in Britain. A scan of this advertisement is available on the page. Melody Maker's, another weekly English music paper, review of "Industrial Silence," where the album got four out of five stars, will be transcribed and be put up on this page. The page will then be renamed and I will try to put up more stuff from the British release of "Industrial Silence" on it. Updated Rare German Album Reviews, added four new reviews, all of them very positive. Also slightly changed the way this news page looks. May 17th 2000 - As you might have noticed, The Story Of Madrugada, Live Bootleg Recordings or Internet Resources are not finished yet. These pages will be finished pretty soon, and they will include the story of Madrugada, information about trading Madrugada bootleg recordings and links to different Madrugada resources on the Internet. I decided to put them up on the main menu although there is nothing on the pages yet. Please have patience. Madrugada will perform at a number of summer festivals in Germany, France and Scandinavia this year. The festivals include what we Scandinavians like to call The Three Big Ones; the Hultsfred Festival in Sweden, the Roskilde Festival in Denmark and the Quart Festival in Norway. Check out the European Release / Concerts page for details. The new album is finished, and 'inside sources' say that it will include the songs "Black Mambo" and "Passenger 39, Not Present." An EP, "2nd Hand EP," slated for release this summer, will include leftovers. Most likely, the amazing song "New Depression" will be on there, as rumours say the song originally intended for release on "New Depression EP" is not supposed to be on the actual follow-up album for "Industrial Silence." This information can be found on the new page Information About New Album. New design is finished, I hope you all like it better than the old one. More pictures and interesting stuff will be added to the page as time pass by. I have been away on vacation for two weeks, and have also had a lot of work to do at school, so I am sorry about the lack of updates lately. All the pages got a new design, and European Release / Concerts, Madrugada Discography and The Rare Songs FAQ were updated. Older News: Most of the older news pages are also being stored and are available from this page. These news pages are no longer updated, so some of the links might be outdated. |
