News: What is happening in the world of Madrugada and on this page? I try to stay as updated as possible, and I will try to bring you the latest rumours and facts concerning Madrugada. Of course, you will also be able to read all the interesting stuff about what has been updated or changed on this very webpage.

March 22nd 2002 - The Norwegian artist St. Thomas played at Bastard in Berlin, Germany last night. The club is a favorite of Frode's, and all the members of Madrugada were in attendance for the show, including the new drummer, who's name is Simon. He is an old friend of Sivert's, currently lives in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and is reportedly a very good drummer.

Sivert is currently living at St. Thomas singer Thomas' place in Berlin. He wants to move to the city, but has yet to find a place to stay. The band are currently rehearsing new songs, and will start recording the next album in April. Thanks a lot to Franziska Ress for all of this information.

Some fans in Greece recently took the initiative to start a Madrugada Fan Club. They are aiming at gathering all the fans together, firstly through parties and meetings within Greece, but later abroad, and other activities in general. You can visit the homepage of the Fan Club, where it is possible to sign up as a member.

March 8th 2002 - Madrugada were in Athletic Sound studios in Halden, Norway for three weeks in February to record a demo for their forthcoming album. They had about thirty to forty songs to work on, and brought in Eivind Schou from St. Thomas to add violin to some of the tracks during the last five days of the session. They are most likely waiting another month or two before starting the actual recordings for the new album, they will probably go into studio in April or May. They are hoping to have the next album out by October. Thanks a lot to Eivind Schou for this information.

March 5th 2002 - A Lee Hazlewood tribute album titled "Total Lee" will be released by City Slang on June 3rd. The full track listing has not been confirmed yet, but Madrugada have covered "Come On Home To Me." Thanks a lot to Raymond Hauger for the information.
