![]() Madrugada Discography: This discography was started and updated by Jan Saghaug at his page www.saghaug.no, but he offered it to be part of this Madrugada page instead. Lots of thanks to Jan for the original work that he did on this guide. The band (Abbey's Adoption tracks): Marius Almaas Johansen: guitar Jon Lauvland Pettersen: drums, percussion Frode Jacobsen: bass Sivert Høyem: vocals on "Dry White Season" Jan Erik Svendsen: vocals on "Facts and Figures" Notes: Seventeen-track release featuring the first material by what would later become Madrugada. At this time they were still called Abbey's Adoption and original singer Jan Erik Svendsen does vocals on one track while Sivert Høyem does vocals on the other. Robert S. Burås had not yet joined the band at this time, Marius A. Johansen was the guitarist. Wrought Records and the CD release was his project. Recorded at Lydstudioet with Jens Sundbø as the technician, both tracks arranged by Abbey's Adoption.
The band (tracks 2 and 9): Sivert Høyem: vocals Robert S. Burås: guitar Frode Jacobsen: bass Jon Lauvland Pettersen: drums Additional musicians: Gudmund Østgård: unknown Notes: Second release featuring material by what would later become Madrugada. At this time they were still called Abbey's Adoption, Robert S. Burås had taken over on guitar and they had moved to Oslo. This is a sampler of bands that would perform at the venue Betong in Spring 1997. On the recordings, Gudmund Østgård is featured, though it is unknown what he played. He is not present on the picture of the band in the cover inlay, where it also says that they are not entirely happy with "Salt Satan" yet and that they are an unsigned band but they have many very good recordings and will soon be ready for their own album. Additional musicians (track 10): Lise Ragnhild Nielsen - backing vocals Kristin Berglund - backing vocals Arthur Kristian Brunvoll - backing vocals Frode Jacobsen - backing vocals Hege Melhus - backing vocals Elisabeth Østrem - backing vocals Jon Erik Lundberg - backing vocals Fredrik L. Technician: Per H. Sveinson. Master: Cutting room, Stockholm. Produced by Lars Martin Myhre. Notes: Øystein Wingaard Wolf is a poet and this is his debut CD. It has been reported that Madrugada were part of his backing band for this release, but in reality only Frode Jacobsen added some backing vocals to one track, "Snille Gamle Damer." Wolf's part in Madrugada's history also includes being the one suggesting that name to them, at a time after they had dropped the name Abbey's Adoption and were going by the name Six Generations.
